Two starting jobs on Buffalo Bills' defense are still up for grabs
With a veteran team like the Buffalo Bills have, and one that a majority of the roster has been together for a few seasons now, there weren't many training camp battles for starting jobs on the offensive side of the ball. The defensive side was a different story and after one week of training camp, it doesn't seem like there is a clear favorite at two spots.
The middle linebacker was the biggest concern as the Bills had almost five players competing to replace Tremaine Edmunds and a case could be made for any of those players. The competition has seemingly been cut down to two players as general manager Brandon Beane mentioned it was Terrel Bernard and Tyrel Dodson who was 'leading the pack'.
The other spot that has been more of a competition than I think a lot of people were hoping for at the cornerback spot opposite Tre'Davious White. After an up-and-down rookie season from Kaiir Elam, the hope was that he would come in and take command of that starting spot.
However, that hasn't been the case as Dane Jackson has had a slight edge with the first team through the start of camp over the other cornerbacks. The team has been rotating Elam, along with Christian Benford, so this spot is far from being decided but for a player who was drafted in the first round, the expectations were certainly higher.
Neither spot has been decided and plenty can change but these are probably the two biggest training camp battles left for the Buffalo Bills.
