Jared Verse

Another pass rusher who appears to be a lock to hear his name called on Thursday night is Florida State defensive end Jared Verse. He began at the University of Albany before transferring to Florida State and played the past two seasons there with 18 total sacks and 29.5 tackles for a loss.

The scouting report on NFL.com describes a player who not only has great power but is explosive which allows him to really beat offensive tackles in a multitude of ways.

"Talented edge defender with the field demeanor, athleticism and skill set to rack up statistics in key categories fairly early in his NFL career. Verse dominated at Albany and then showed an ability to do the same at Florida State. He’s twitchy and compact, with explosiveness featured at the point of attack and in his upfield burst as a pass rusher."

Similar to Latu, Jared Verse could be selected well before the Buffalo Bills first-round pick. It is expected that he could go as early as the middle of the first round. However, if he does fall and assuming players like Brian Thomas Jr. or Cooper DeJean are gone, then Verse would be a great pick.
