The Bills like what they have in Ryan Van Demark

I'll get more into the tackles later, as I do have one other item, I wanted to discuss but before I do, I want to talk about Ryan Van Demark. The casual probably hasn't heard of him but I have a feeling he could become a mainstay down the road on the Bills offensive line.

Throughout the preseason, he played 120 snaps, 51 at left tackle and 69 at right tackle. PFF gave him an overall score of 64.8, including a run-block grade of 71.4. He committed zero penalties and gave up one sack. I think the Bills like this kid a lot and have a long-term plan for him. He'll likely be the swing tackle.

Backup tackles have one year of experience each

Ok, this is a bit concerning; however, as I mentioned earlier, it sounds like the Bills might be signing veteran tackle, Germain Ifedi. Ifedi is a former first-rounder, which typically means he has elite traits and has83 starts under his belt. That's a good thing to have that experience.

The experience that Ifedi could bring would be a good thing because the other two current backup tackles, Van Demark and Alec Anderson have only one year of experience between them. The Bills kept nine offensive linemen on the 53, so it's unknown what will happen should the team sign Ifedi or any other tackle. My guess is that Alec Anderson would be moved to the practice squad.
