James Cook has most rushing yards for Bills running back since 2017

One part of the game that was notably missing from Josh Allen's game was his scrambling ability and making plays on the ground. The reason for this could have been due to a very productive running game led by James Cook.

The second-year running back out of Georgia was excellent with 17 rushing attempts for 123 rushing yards and an average of 7.2 yards per carry. It is notable because this is the most rushing yards of any Bills running back since LeSean McCoy in 2017.

That game was the Snow Bowl against the Indianapolis Colts when it was almost impossible to throw the ball. McCoy would have over 150 rushing yards that game.

As for Cook, he showed off the explosiveness he brings to the position with a number of long runs, including a 36-yard run at the end of the game. If the Bills continue to get this balance between run and pass, the offense has a chance to be even better than it was last year.
