4 contracts holding the Buffalo Bills back right now entering offseason
Von Miller
Among the players on this list, Von Miller is the only free agent the Buffalo Bills signed to the contract. It was easily the biggest splash that general manager Brandon Beane has made by offering a six-year deal worth $120 million.
Similar to White, the early returns were great as Miller helped transform the pass rush with eight sacks and 12 QB hits in 11 games. Unfortunately, the former All-Pro suffered a torn ACL and missed the remainder of the 2022 season.
Miller returned sooner than White did and would play 12 regular season games this past year. However, he was not nearly as effective and had no sacks and only three QB hits and now enters 2024 with a $23.8 million cap.
If released his dead cap would be over $30 million and it is almost impossible to manage such a steep price to release him. The Bills are going to almost certainly keep him on the 2024 roster and hope he can return to the level he did in the early part of the 2022 season.
