Buffalo Bills not re-signing Devin Singletary

Another player who has been a key part of the team the past few seasons was running back Devin Singletary. In each of his four seasons in Buffalo, he would have at least 150 rushing attempts, over 750 rushing yards, and over 40 receptions. In the past two seasons, he finished with over 1,000 yards from scrimmage each year.

Singletary would leave in free agency and sign with the Houston Texans on a modest one-year deal worth $2.75 million. The Buffalo Bills certainly could have offered a similar contract and brought Singletary back.

However, it is clear that the team needed a change at the position and bring in different running backs. They were able to do that by signing Damien Harris and Latavius Murray, two bigger running backs who are more effective in the short-yardage situations, for roughly the same salary that Singletary has this season.
