Buffalo Bills agree to two-year extension with Matt Milano

One of the reasons that the Buffalo Bills not re-signing Tremaine Edmunds wasn't an issue was because they were able to extend Matt Milano which keeps him under contract through the 2026 season. This past season was the best season Milano has had in his career and even was named first-team All-Pro.

The extension of Milano had benefits both in the short-term and the long-term for the Buffalo Bills. The contract extension created around $6 million in cap space this season and the Bills were able to make some of those additional free agent moves.

However, it also creates long-term stability at the position and is one of the reasons the coaching staff should be a little more at ease with an inexperienced player at middle linebacker. Milano knows this defense and should be able to pick up some of the slack in whoever replaces Edmunds.
