4 Buffalo Bills on the roster bubble after second preseason game
Cam Lewis
Similar to defensive end, the cornerback position might be too deep and the Buffalo Bills are going to have a tough time finding room for all the players at the position they would like to keep. One player who could be on the outside looking in is Cam Lewis.
The former undrafted free agent out of the University of Buffalo has been with the team since 2019. He has moved between the practice squad and the 53-man roster during that time and has appeared in 25 games with four starts.
Lewis probably best fits as the backup nickel behind Taron Johnson but the Buffalo Bills may not have the option to have him in that role. The reason being that the team has Siran Neal, who may not be better than Lewis at nickel but Neal is a key part of special teams.
If the Bills keep only six cornerbacks (Tre'Davious White, Dane Jackson, Kaiir Elam, Christian Benford, Taron Johnson, and Siran Neal) then Cam Lewis doesn't have a spot. However, if the team wants to be deeper at the position and keep seven then that spot belongs to Lewis.
