Shane Ray

Shane Ray is a former first round pick by the Denver Broncos but hasn't played in an NFL regular season game since 2018. He has dealt with a number of injuries over his career but entering this offseason was healthy and earned a contract after a tryout with the Bills.

Unfortunately, Ray suffered a hamstring injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers that puts his spot on the 53-man roster in jeopardy. Shane Ray always seemed like a long-shot because the depth the team has at the position but if he played well during the preseason he could have moved passed someone like Boogie Basham or Shaq Lawson for the final spot.

However, if this hamstring injury forces him to miss the game against the Bears, or really any practice time, it might be too late to make up that ground. If he is cut, the Bills probably will try to bring him back on the practice squad but at this point seems unlikely to make the 53-man roster.
