Baylon Spector

Without question, the linebacker position is going to be one of the toughest for the coaching staff to navigate when it is time to cut down the Buffalo Bills roster. This is due to not having a clear answer to replace Tremaine Edmunds but also due to some injuries at the position.

The competition right now to replace Edmunds looks to be down to Tyrel Dodson and Terrel Bernard but Bernard is now dealing with a hamstring injury. Tyrel Dodson looked like he could have a great chance to secure the starting job but didn't play great against the Colts.

This created a potential opportunity for Baylon Spector to get back into the discussion but it appears like he isn't going to be a factor and instead might be competing for a spot on the roster. In this game against the Colts, it was actually A.J. Klein who was on the field before Spector which could be an indication he is higher on the depth chart right now.

The Buffalo Bills are likely to keep between five or six linebackers on their 53-man roster and Matt Milano, Tyrel Dodson, Terrel Bernard, and Dorian Williams are locks. The Bills likely will also have Tyler Matakevich, but he is currently on the PUP list and could start the regular season on that list.

However, if he is able to return that leaves only one spot for A.J. Klein, Baylon Spector, or Travian Howard (who played well against the Colts). The Buffalo Bills may have a tough time finding a spot for Spector depending on how the final two preseason games play out.
