Ed Oliver

Last offseason, the general consensus when the Bills announced the contract extension for Ed Oliver was surprise. The former Top 10 pick had been good at times but was very inconsistent and would disappear for long stretches of time.

While there was some of that, like in the playoffs this season, but for the most part Oliver was that game changer for the defense the Buffalo Bills envisioned when they drafted him. He finished the season with career highs in tackles (51), tackles for a loss (14), QB hits (16), and sacks (9.5).

The defensive tackle position could look very different next season as Oliver is currently the only player at the position under contract for the 2024 season. However, he showed this season that he is a player that the Bills can build around and be a leader on the interior of the defensive line.
