Tyrel Dodson

The Buffalo Bills have two options to replace Matt Milano at linebacker as they initially had Dorian Williams on the field after Milano's injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, midway through the game he was replaced by Dodson and Monday mentioned that he thought Williams struggled against the Jaguars and why they made the switch.

This doesn't guarantee Dodson will be the starter in Week 6 against the New York Giants as the coaching staff may be able to get Dorian Williams practice reps with the starters and have him ready for the game Sunday night. However, the coaching staff probably will go with the experience and have Tyrel Dodson as the starter.

Dodson knows this defense well after being with the Buffalo Bills for the past few seasons and has started five games since 2020. However, when he has started it has been at middle linebacker so the Bills may have him play a different position or move Terrel Bernard to weakside linebacker in place of Milano.

With the way that Bernard has been playing, it is hard to imagine the coaching staff wanting to do anything to effect that momentum. I would expect Dodson to be the starter at weakside for Week 6 and moving forward.
