Tim Settle
Another position that is expected to be very competitive during training camp is at defensive tackle. The Buffalo Bills have all four players from last year returning but also added Poona Ford after the NFL Draft.
Ford has the potential to be one of the best free agent signings this offseason by the Buffalo Bills and if he does make the 53-man roster, one of the other defensive tackles is likely to be cut as the Bills have typically only had four defensive tackles on the roster.
Based on his performance last year, Tim Settle would seem to be one of the top candidates to be cut. However, he agreed to a restructured contract this offseason that created cap space for the Bills this year but also increased his dead cap to $5.158 with $3.8 million this year and $1.35 million next year.
The Bills are going to have some tough decisions here and the final spot probably comes down to Settle and Jordan Phillips. However, if the performance through training camp is close, Settle probably has the edge because of the contract.
