Terrel Bernard

This time last year, it seemed like all eyes were on Terrel Bernard, along with a number of other linebackers, as the Bills looked for the replacement for Tremaine Edmunds. The former first-round pick left in free agency to sign with the Chicago Bears and the Bills didn't go out and add a clear replacement.

At the time, it was an open competition between players like Bernard, Tyrel Dodson, and even A.J. Klein. It really wasn't even clear until Week 1 as Bernard missed most of the preseason due to an injury.

Any concerns quickly disappeared as Bernard looked great early in the season and continued that level of play through the entire first season as the starting linebacker. He finished the season with three interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and 6.5 sacks.

After the departure of veterans like Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer, there will be more pressure on Terrel Bernard to take on more of a leadership role for this defense.
