Ed Oliver

Ed Oliver has had an incredible season for the Buffalo Bills and really developed into that player the team saw when they drafted him in the Top 10 of the 2019 NFL Draft. They should consider themselves lucky that they were able to extend him before this season with what he has been able to do.

For the season, Oliver has set career highs in total tackles (50), tackles for a loss (14), sacks (9.5), and QB hits (16) along with his first career interception and one forced fumble.

There are some very talented players in the AFC in the interior of the defensive line but if the award is for the performance for just this season, it is hard to justify Quinnen Williams being added to the roster over Oliver. Williams this season does have nine more tackles and two more QB hits than Oliver but has only 3.5 sacks and nine tackles for a loss.

Quinnen Williams is a great player but this year it is tough to make a case that he was better than Ed Oliver.
