Should the Buffalo Bills trade Gabe Davis?

Do not get me wrong, trading Davis without a backup plan is not the best idea. Although, if the Bills do not see themselves retaining Davis, why not get some value for him? While Davis has been a game changer at times for the Bills, he also has not been consistent enough to potentially earn a second contract with the Bills.

The Bills have brought in a potential replacement for Davis in Justin Shorter who was drafted this past April out of the University of Florida. He is similar to Davis in size which can help bring a bigger presence to the Bills receiving group if Davis is not with the Bills next season, or is even traded away at some point this season.

There might be teams that would at least call the Bills to have discussions. Maybe something happens, maybe something doesn’t. At the end of the day, trading away Davis would not be the worst idea that Beane has had.
