Will Damar Hamlin make his return in 2023?

The injury suffered by Damar Hamlin in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals will have a lasting effect on players and fans alike. However, the story looks to have a positive ending as Hamlin not only recovered from the injury but also was cleared to return to football activities earlier in the offseason.

This is a remarkable milestone and one that didn't seem possible at the end of the regular season. While he has been cleared, everyone involved will probably be cautious and how they approach his return to an NFL game.

The start of training camp will give an early indication of what Damar Hamlin might be able to do this season. The team could elect to place Hamlin on the physically-unable-to-perform list to begin camp. If he remains on that list all the way until the start of the regular season, the Bills could add him to that list to begin the season and would signal maybe a return in the second half of the season.

However, if he is able to practice in training camp, the return of Hamlin would be much sooner and possible as early as Week 1 against the New York Jets. Bills Mafia is going to anxiously be waiting his return but at this point it remains to be seen when that might be.
