3 Buffalo Bills who need to play well in preseason to keep roster spot
By Brandon Ray
1.) Tim Settle - Defensive Tackle
This might be a little bit of a shock that Tim Settle is on the list, given how the Bills do not have great depth at the defensive tackle spot. However, Settle is going into a contract year with the Bills and he is more than likely not a guaranteed starter.
Despite Settle reportedly having a great training camp, maybe this could be a smokescreen. The current defensive tackles on the roster who are more than likely making the final roster are Ed Oliver, DaQuan Jones and Poona Ford. In addition, there is also Settle and Jordan Phillips, who could take the fourth defensive tackle spot.
Settle recorded 19 total tackles and one sack last season, but the Bills run defense was still shaky. With Oliver getting paid this offseason, Jones being consistent last season and Ford added in free agency, this could leave Settle and Phillips potentially on the roster bubble. Settle may have to get some reps this preseason to show that he can be part of the defensive line rotation this season.
