Dawson Knox

The next player is one that they won't have the opportunity to move on from this season in tight end Dawson Knox. The Bills drafted him in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft and he was viewed as a project at the time as an athletic tight end but he would need time to develop.

That appeared to track as he had a career year in 2021 when he had 49 receptions, 587 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. He had similar numbers in 2022 with 48 receptions, 517 receiving yards, and six touchdowns.

This past season though Knox quickly was surpassed by Dalton Kincaid and is no longer the top tight end for this offense. Unfortunately, the Bills are going to be paying Knox like he is a Top 10 tight end after agreeing to a four-year extension worth $52 million prior to the 2023 season.

This year, Knox has the fifth highest cap hit among tight ends, and as long as Kincaid is part of this offense, he will not get close to the numbers he had in 2021 or 2022.
