2 Buffalo Bills players facing an uncertain future after the Draft
As the 2024 NFL Draft has came and went, and so has some players futures with the Buffalo Bills. Players that had a role on this team, whether as starters, or on Special Teams, likely won’t have their role back after training camp concludes and the Bills go down to 53 players.
The Bills let go of a pretty big group of players this off-season, players who carved out a nice role on this team. So to say anybody’s job, besides a few positions, is safe is a bet I wouldn’t want to take. The Bills have shown they aren’t afraid to release players who either aren’t good anymore and cost too much or are too injury-prone and can’t stay on the field. So, who’s job security is in question after the draft?
Going into the draft, some expected them to take an Offensive Lineman somewhere between Day 1 and 2, but they didn’t. They selected Georgia’s Sedrick Van Pran-Granger in the 5th round. While they waited until Day 3 to select their first offensive lineman, there’s still a lot of depth on the line, and some players’ jobs may not be safe anymore.
The Bills created a gaping hole at the Safety position, letting Micah Hyde walk and releasing Jordan Poyer. However, they added a couple of quality players in Mike Edwards and rookie Cole Bishop, also re-signing Taylor Rapp. So what does that mean for players already rostered? Will they still have a future on this team?
The training camp/preseason battles will be exciting to follow during the summer as the Bills roster shapes out. Let’s take a look at some players whose jobs are cloudy.
