Troy Franklin

The next two wide receivers are probably better options in the second round but if the Buffalo Bills can't find a trade partner, or are afraid another team might move ahead to pick them, the Bills may decide to make the pick here to ensure they get the player.

One of those players is Troy Franklin out of Oregon, who has incredible speed and is one of those wide receivers that can really maximize Josh Allen's arm strength. He is a player that will force defenses to play deeper and respect those big plays, which the Bills really haven't had since John Brown.

Xavier Legette

The final player that could be considered in the first round by the Buffalo Bills is wide receiver Xavier Legette out of South Carolina. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Bills had a private workout with Legette prior to the NFL Draft.

He is a big wide receiver at 221 pounds that did run a sub-4.4 40-yard dash during the NFL Combine and Legette could be a problem for defensive backs in a similar fashion to a D.K. Metcalf. The concerns for Legette is that he didn't really do much prior to the 2023 season with less than 500 receiving yards total in four seasons.

However, this past season was really impressive and why he is even in the discussion for the first round with 71 receptions, 1,255 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. If the Bills saw what they needed to during the workout, Xavier Legette might end up being their first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
