The official free agency period will begin one week from tomorrow, but the legal tampering is just six days away. It’s an exciting time for fans as there is tons of movement through free agency signings, roster releases, and trades (that have already been reported). The Bills so far have only restructured the contract of Spencer Brown, but they should be making more moves here soon.
Whether they release players, maybe even make a trade at some point, the Bills will be a closely watched team over the next few weeks.
Next Monday is when teams can start to negotiate with players and one player that is reportedly set to play in 2026 still is edge rusher Khalil Mack, according to Ian Rapoport. Mack is coming off a 5.5 sack season with the Chargers but he also had 4 forced fumbles and 32 total tackles despite just playing in 12 games.
Rapoport reported that "Mack is a priority for LA." However, Mack will be "exploring all options and will be a big-time target in free agency."
#Chargers legend Khalil Mack, one of the top edges available, will play in 2026, sources say. At the age of 35, coming off a strong season, Mack is a priority for LA.

Khalil Mack just may be a missing piece on Bills defense
Buffalo is set to lose both Joey Bosa and A.J. Epenesa in free agency and unless they bring back one of them, edge rusher is going to be an extremely important position for the Bills to address. Mack has been one of the best edge rushers that the NFL has had, recording 113 career sacks and 661 total tackles.
Now granted, he is no longer in his prime. So obviously, the Bills would also need to either really develop Landon Jackson or get more edge rusher help. At the same time, with Jim Leonhard going to operate a defense where they will bring serious pressure against the quarterback, Mack is a great fit.
The only thing that the Bills need to really consider is his prime. According to Spotrac, Mack’s market value is currently listed at $18.4 million. That’s not cheap whatsoever, so maybe that is the deciding factor on whether or not Buffalo seriously pursues Mack.
Then again, the Bills have had an inconsistent pass rush for many years. Mack is still serviceable and is able to wreck games up to this point in his career. If the Bills are able to secure his services at a lower price, but include possible incentives, then maybe this pairing could work out.
Let’s not forget, Mack went to the University at Buffalo as well before getting drafted by the Raiders back in 2014, so he has an idea of what the city of Buffalo is like.
