For Bills fans who watched the Super Bowl, there was a clear notice of the horrible performance by Patriots’ rookie offensive tackle, Will Campbell. The Patriots selected Campbell 4th overall in last year’s draft out of LSU and it was no surprise. New England had a major problem on the offensive line and Campbell was the best offensive linemen prospect coming out of college.

While Campbell was solid in his first season, the playoffs is where he really started to show some weaknesses of his and in the Super Bowl, he looked lost and was completely pushed around by the Seahawks.

He was getting beat off the snap of the ball and was bull-rushed a ton, giving up 14 pressures which was the most allowed by any player in a game this past season, according to Jack Andrade and NextGenStats.

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel spoke with the media on Tuesday and he was asked about whether or not there would be a thought that Campbell could be moved from left tackle, given the fact of this horrible Super Bowl performance. However, Vrabel made it very clear that Campbell will be New England’s left tackle, per Mike Reiss.

Mike Vrabel just gave Bills opportunity to attack Pats' biggest weakness in 2026

Campbell eventually told the media that he was playing with a torn ligament and was not at full health for the playoffs. Maybe that did play an ultimate role in Campbell's underperforming performance, but there were questions even before about whether or not he would be a great blindside protector.

With Vrabel saying this about Campbell moving forward, the Bills need to do whatever it takes to bulk up their pass rush when they take on the Patriots. The good news is that with Jim Leonhard now in charge of the defense, the aggressiveness should definitely improve without question.

So, whether it’s Greg Rousseau or someone else lining up from across Campbell, the Bills will have the chance to embarrass Campbell and the Pats if Campbell is not able to improve, Buffalo could have a lot of fun against New England’s offense.

Now again, the Bills have to bring in some edge rush power to drastically improve anyways. Expect the Bills to be aggressive no matter what, but with better players, the more impactful they will be in 2026.
