One former Bill set to return to Buffalo in Week 13 for Sunday Night Football
By Brandon Ray
The bye week is officially behind the Buffalo Bills and they will get ready for their final six regular season games. Up first is the defending NFC champions, the San Francisco 49ers. For many seasons now, the 49ers have been in the elite category because of their success they have had up until either the conference championship or the Super Bowl.
This has been a weird season for the 49ers. They have had some injuries pop up on them like Brandon Aiyuk and Christian McCaffrey, but they are too talented to be in the position they are currently at. Even though they are still NFC favorites, it doesn’t look to be that they will be making a push for the Super Bowl this year.
As for the Bills, they are red hot on a six-game winning streak and are coming off a week of rest. Since Sean McDermott became the head coach of the Bills, Buffalo has yet to lose coming off a bye week and they are at home this Sunday to host the 49ers in what should be a cold-weathered game.
Regardless of what the records say, this should be a physical game where both teams somehow get tested. While Buffalo pretty much as a lock on the AFC East, they are still chasing the Kansas City Chiefs for the number one-seed in the AFC.
When the 49ers come to town, a former Bill will be making his homecoming return. Defensive end Leonard Floyd signed with the Bills in 2023 and played a big role in Buffalo’s success early on in the season. This past offseason, Floyd left Buffalo and joined the 49ers.
Leonard Floyd set to take on Josh Allen, Bills defense
Just a year after not having to worry about Josh Allen, Floyd will now have to contain Allen from being Superman against the 49ers’ defense. As a member of the Bills, Floyd has 10.5 sacks which was the most by a Bills player last season. He got off to a hot start with the Bills, but then became quiet as the season went on.
Now he is part of ferocious pass rush with Nick Bosa, both who will be looking to be game-changers against Buffalo. Floyd still has a fast motor off the ball and whether he goes up against Dion Dawkins or Spencer Brown, he will be looking to spoil Buffalo’s winning streak.
