NFL gifted football fans perfect Bills-Chiefs primetime matchup

The Buffalo Bills schedule release finally has a leak that matters, and it's a big one. Thanksgiving Thursday, they welcome the Kansas City Chiefs to town.

For the Buffalo Bills, the NFL schedule release has been as interesting as dry lettuce- Until now. Major news dropped, with the Bills getting one of the most coveted primetime spots on the NFL's docket, Thanksgiving night.

NFL's Thanksgiving schedule leaked

A somewhat slow schedule release period is finishing with a bang. The Buffalo Bills will host the Kansas City Chiefs for Thanksgiving's Thursday Night Football matchup. It's a picture-perfect choice, and the matchup everyone wants to see.

News started coming out late on Wednesday night, and were quickly confirmed by NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid come to Buffalo to face Josh Allen and the new-look Bills, in primetime, all on the one holiday dedicated to football.

The rest of the docket features the Bears visiting the Lions at 1:00pm, and the Eagles on the road against the Dallas Cowboys. Truly, a week for family off the field.

Bills vs. Chiefs rivalry heads into primetime

The Bills and Chiefs have the most notable rivalry of the 2020's bar none. From it's extensive history in both regular season and postseason, to the evenly-matched record head-to-head, to he narratives spun by fans and experts alike. Truly, there isn't a more classic game in the modern era than Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes tearing chunks out of each other's defenses.

Unfortunately for the Bills, their wins never translate in the playoffs, but it isn't the bright lights that have been the problem. Countless major matchups between the two have gone the Bills' way; Josh Allen's crew has gone 5-0 in the regular season over their last five matchups. They've gone 0-4 in their last four playoff meetings.

Still, a new year is here, and both teams will see some drastic changes this offseason. Who takes the cake this time around?

Bills' Thanksgiving record

The Allen Bills have had their fair share of Thanksgiving games. Starting with their victory over the Cowboys in 2019, Josh Allen has been dominant on the holiday. In that game, he put his mark on the league and never looked back. He's now 3-0, having beaten the Lions in 2022, and absolutely shattered the Saints in 2021.

The Chiefs, however, are fresh off a 2025 Thanksgiving loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The loss just about ended their middling season, as they fell to 6-6. Of the two groups, only one has shown consistent success on turkey day.
