New NFL ranking gets Bills completely wrong on one key point

When a team is looked at as a championship contender, there is always going to be pressure for immediate results for success. In the NFL, there are a handful of teams that are true contenders when it comes to being in the Super Bowl bubble and the Buffalo Bills surely are one of them.

At the same time, it’s hard to call the Bills “Super Bowl” contenders since they haven’t reached the big game in this century. Don’t get me wrong, Buffalo has the superstar quarterback and a bunch of solid players that can help them reach it. Until then, though, it’s tough to say that they are a Super Bowl team.

Now granted, most teams should have this kind label as well. The one immediate team that should come to mind that is like the Bills are the Baltimore Ravens. Just like the Bills, they have their superstar quarterback but have failed to reach the big game as well.

It really depends on how you look at it, but overall, the Bills do face pressure every year. However, that doesn’t mean that they face the most coming up this season, but Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone seems to think so.

Bills receive unfair placement in new NFL rankings list

Scataglia ranked the teams “with the most at stake for 2026” and at the very top of the list were the Bills, which is extremely unfair.

"How many more years will we see the Buffalo Bills lose in heartbreaking fashion in the playoffs? Buffalo has been in the postseason each year since 2019, winning at least one game each year since 2020. Josh Allen now has a career playoff record of 8-7." said Scataglia.

"Adding DJ Moore in a trade should also help out the offense, so it's clear that the front office is at least attempting to make the necessary moves. The Bills have appeared to have it all in place for years now, but another season of a brutal playoff loss amps up the pressure even more for the 2026 season." Scataglia added.

I’m not saying that the Bills don’t deserve to have pressure put on them because they only have Josh Allen for so much longer. At the same time, there is a new head coach in Joe Brady to go along with a new coaching staff. Not to mention, when you look at a team like the Los Angeles Rams who just went all-in for Myles Garrett, that’s the team that has the most to lose.

They traded multiple picks including a 2027 first-rounder, as well as an ascending edge rusher in Jared Verse. The “biggest” splash the Bills made this offseason was trading for DJ Moore, and all it did was cost them a second round pick (in which they ended up making two second-round picks anyway).

To say that Buffalo has the most at stake when you look at the offseason that they had is nonsense. The Bills definitely do have to act sooner than later, especially now that Allen is entering his 30s. At the same time, Allen is right in the middle of his prime and he is bound to play some great football for the next five years minimum.
