It always seems like the Buffalo Bills can’t catch a break when it comes to injuries. Each season, the Bills have so much talent on the roster but the injury bug finds a way to make its way onto the roster.

Going back to the summer, the Bills were dealing with injuries on the back end of the defense with Maxwell Hairston (who still has yet to play a game this season), Tre’Davious White, and Cole Bishop. Damar Hamlin is also on injured reserve.

As for the defensive line, the Bills were without Ed Oliver from Week 2-Week 5 after getting “stepped on” at practice in preparation for the Jets early on in the season. Rookie defensive tackle T.J. Sanders was also placed on injured reserve as well.

Heck, in pre-game for their Week 6 matchup against the Falcons, defensive tackle DaQuan Jones suffered a calf injury and missed that game. Now he is set to miss Sunday’s game against the Panthers, per Adam Schefter along with WR Joshua Palmer and S Taylor Rapp.

Latest Bills injury update now puts Buffalo in prime spot to immediately trade for defensive help

After it was reported by Schefter about Jones, Palmer, and Rapp being out for Sunday’s game against the Panthers, Matt Parrino reported that Rapp is not only out for this week but he is heading to injured reserve as well, per Sean McDermott on WGR550.

At this point, it’s pretty clear what kind of help that the Bills need; they need help in the secondary. Buffalo’s defense is already one of the bottom units in the league and now they are dealing with even more injuries. At 4-2, their Super Bowl window is open but it certainly doesn’t feel like it.

This is a prime opportunity for Brandon Beane to go out there and see what safety options are out there that can help Buffalo. The back end of the defense has become even weaker now that Rapp is on injured reserve. Beane, go do your thing and keep the championship window open for the team and the fans.
