Now that the NFL Draft is officially over, teams will be looking towards the second wave of free agency where there is still plenty of talent available. During the first wave back in March, the Bills were focused on defense with bringing in players like C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Geno Smith, Dee Alford, and Bradley Chubb.
Their most notable move they made on offense was trading for D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears, but they also brought back quarterback Kyle Allen who will be the backup again for Josh Allen.
With having over $12 million in cap space to use per Spotrac, the Bills should be looking to bring in another free agent or two who can come in and bring some kind of impact. Maybe they add another wide receiver, maybe they add more defensive help.Â
Either way, they have the room to make a splash and after what after NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reported, the Bills still have a chance to make a splash on the defensive line.
Bills have better chance to bring in major defensive line help after latest free agency news
According to Schultz, the New York Giants will be signing veteran defensive tackle Shelby Harris.

Why is this important to mention? It’s because earlier this month, Schultz reported that the Giants had hosted free agent defensive tackle D.J. Reader on a free agency visit. A lot of people had thought that Reader could potentially replace Dexter Lawrence, if he was going to be traded.
The Giants ended up dealing Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals, but now that Harris has signed with the Giants, Reader possibly going to the Giants doesn’t look so possible now and now the Bills should be looking to bring in Reader to add to the defensive line.
Brandon Beane said earlier this week that Deone Walker will be the nose tackle in the middle of Jim Leonhard’s new defensive scheme. However, adding Reader to the mix should be on Buffalo’s radar because the Bills are going to need to rotate their defensive linemen.
Reader is a big player who can force double blocks in the middle. Having a rotation of him and Walker in the middle would have Bills Mafia smiling big time. Reader’s market value is currently set at $3.9 million per Spotrac, and I don't see how Buffalo doesn't sign him to that kind of contract.
Maybe the Bills feel comfortable with what they have on the defensive line, but Reader would give them a big boost in the trenches.
