Kyle Brandt hits it on the mark for Bills x-factor not named Josh Allen for Week 11
By Brandon Ray
After what feels like a long waiting game, the Buffalo Bills are back in action today where they will host their bitter rival, the Kansas City Chiefs. Both teams are on big time winning streaks, but the Bills have the chance to become the team that puts the first loss on the Chiefs’ record.
This is undisputedly the game of the week and Bills Mafia will have the pleasure of witnessing it on their home turf rather than in Arrowhead. The only downfall factor is that it is proven that the Chiefs can beat the Bills in Kansas City and Buffalo. Not to mention, even though this game is big, we have trend going where the Bills have defeated the Chiefs in the regular season but the Chiefs get the better of the rivalry in the playoffs.
It’s always a classic showdown when Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are on the same field together. We have witnessed a back-and-forth affair where it has literally come down to whoever has the ball last. While both quarterbacks need help, they are the start of either success or failure.
When it comes to Allen, he is the one that faces the most pressure between the two. We never know which version of Allen we get. However, this season has shown us a different version of Allen playing consistent smart football to where he only has four turnovers on the year. At the same time, he needs help from his supporting cast and he needs them now more than ever for today’s game.
The Bills have already ruled out wide receiver Keon Coleman and tight end Dalton Kincaid. That’s two weapons that Buffalo is down and it limits them on offense for weapons for Allen. While there is a hope that Amari Cooper will be back in action for the Bills, Allen is going to need more than just Cooper.
Honorary Bills Mafia member Kyle Brandt was featured on NFL Network this morning where he went into depth about Buffalo vs. Kansas City. Specifically, Brandt discussed who the most important player is in this game outside of Allen and Mahomes.
Bills RB James Cook must step up vs. Chiefs
Brandt couldn’t be anymore right than to list Cook as an x-factor for this game. Averaging 4.5 yards per carry this year and scoring 8 touchdowns on the ground, Cook’s number getting called a lot wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.
If Cook is able to consistently produce against a tough Chiefs defense, not only does it keep the flow of Buffalo’s offense going smoothly, but it also keeps Mahomes off the field and allows Buffalo’s defense to get rested.
