If there is one player on the Buffalo Bills that faces a ton of pressure going into 2026, it’s wide receiver Keon Coleman, who is going into the third year of his rookie deal. Everyone knows the story with Coleman when it comes to his tenure with the Bills. He was drafted to help fill the void after Stefon Diggs was traded in 2024, but it’s been more disappointing than successful.

In Week 1 last season against the Baltimore Ravens, Bills fans thought that Coleman was ready to be Josh Allen’s new No. 1 receiver after his 8 catch-112 yard-1 touchdown stat line against the Ravens under the lights. After that, he failed to reach 50 yards in a game and he missed a handful of games due to maturity issues.

Now with the Bills acquiring DJ Moore via trade from the Bears, and drafting Skyler Bell in the 4th round of the NFL Draft, there is more competition for Coleman to truly be successful in this offense.

Keon Coleman must respond to doubters in 2026

Moe Moton from Bleacher Report predicted every NFL team’s biggest bust for 2026 and Coleman was listed for the Bills, which isn’t too surprising at all. Plus, it puts Coleman in position where he has to prove doubters wrong.

"In 2025, the Bills benched Coleman and listed him as a healthy inactive for multiple games. Clearly, they expect more from the 2024 second-rounder and still believe he can make a significant developmental leap, but it's unlikely to happen this year." said Moton.

" [DJ] Moore, slot wideout Khalil Shakir and tight end Dalton Kincaid will probably see most of the targets, which leaves few opportunities for any other pass-catcher to make a significant impact." Moton added.

Even though Coleman still has the benefit of being in the same offense under Joe Brady, the additions of Moore and Bell put Coleman in a tough spot. Not to mention, the Bills also have one of the best rushing attacks and I don’t see them slowing that factor down.

While Coleman is contractually set to be in Buffalo for two more seasons, this coming season is a make-or-break year for Coleman’s future in Buffalo. If he disappoints once again, the Bills are going to have to think long and hard about what they will do with him and whether or not he gets yet another chance with the team.
