We are less than a day away from the AFC championship game where the Buffalo Bills will get the chance to dethrone the defending Super Bowl champs. It won’t be an easy task, but the Bills are familiar with beating the Chiefs, just not in the postseason. Will it happen tomorrow? Bills Mafia sure does hope so.

Leading up to this game, the Bills received great news regarding their offensive coordinator Joe Brady. With the way that Brady has operated this offense since taking over the offense in the middle of last season, Brady has shown that he can lead an offense no matter who is part of the system. Last offseason, Brady earned himself one head coaching interview but it doubled during this cycle.

He was requested to interview with the New York Jets, Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. All of the head coach openings have been filled except for the Saints. Brady was lined up for an in-person second round interview for the head coach position. However, according to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Brady has withdrawn from the interview process and will be returning to Buffalo.

This Joe Brady news benefits Josh Allen the most moving forward

When you have a star quarterback right in the middle of his prime, it is very crucial to make sure that he and his offensiveo coordinator see eye-to-eye. Allen and Brady have had success with each other and Brady actually saved the Bills’ season in 2023 while also helping Allen grow as a player to where he didn’t need a go-to receiver.

Allen took his big step forward under Brian Daboll, but then started to regress a little bit with Ken Dorsey. Once Brady came into the picture, Allen and the Bills were saved on offense.

In this season, Brady has elevated the Bills offense so much that he has shown the NFL that teams don’t need a star receiver to have success. As long as everyone does their job, everybody is going to eat. For atleast one more season, Allen and Brady will be working together. However, it could be the last season because there is a good shot that Brady will leave Buffalo for a head coaching job in next year’s cycle.

Plus, Brady is smart to stay with a stable organization. The Saints are going through a little bit of a rebuild with uncertainty at the quarterback position. Even though the NFC South is a winnable division, Brady would have been setup to fail.
