One player for the Buffalo Bills that needs to step up big time in 2025 is first round pick Dalton Kincaid whom the Bills traded up for in the 2023 NFL Draft. Coming out of Utah, there wasn’t a lot of speculation that the Bills were looking to draft a tight end early on since they had extended Dawson Knox that prior season.

Kindcaid was the top tight end prospect in that draft class and the Bills jumped ahead of the Dallas Cowboys, who were destined to select him if they had the chance.

In his first season with Buffalo, Kincaid showed signs of being great where he had 673 yards and 2 touchdowns off of 73 receptions. Then after the Bills traded Stefon Diggs, there was a lot of hype for Kincaid going into 2024 as Josh Allen’s true go-to guy and that he could become a Travis Kelce-like player.

Last season was anything but that as Kincaid only finished with 448 yards and 2 touchdowns while missing some action due to a knee injury in the middle of the season. Now, this is a big year for Kincaid as he enters his third year. After the 2025 season, the Bills will have to decide on whether or not they will pick up his fifth-year option within his rookie contract.

Dalton Kincaid is off to perfect start to secure long-term future with Bills

It’s very early in the summer and anything can happen moving forward. However, we cannot ignore the early progress that Dalton Kincaid is showing to Bills fans as training camp approaches here next month.

Kincaid has been praised by coaches and players about his dedication he has shown being in the weight room this past offseason and right now, his hard work seems to be paying off greatly. According to Alex Brasky during Thursday’s OTA practice, Kincaid has been everywhere on the field catching touchdown passes. Brasky stated that Kincaid has touchdown grabs over cornerback Taron Johnson and safety Darrick Forrest, and also had himself a touchdown in the back of the endzone against safety Taylor Rapp.

Again, I know it’s early June and it’s just OTAs. However, Kincaid is showing early on that he means business going into the 2025 season. He has a big year ahead of him and this is his chance to take a giant step forward in the right direction and secure a potential long-term spot with the Bills.
