It wasn’t too long ago when we first learned that former Buffalo Bills running back Nyheim Hines was eyeing an NFL comeback after missing the last two seasons from when he tore his ACL in a jet-ski accident prior to the 2023 season. With training camp underway for some teams and coming up soon for others, Hines managed to find a potential home.
According to Adam Schefter, the Los Angeles Chargers have signed the former Bills running back. Hines is heading out to LA for atleast training camp and will now have the chance to earn a roster spot. It was reported earlier in the day that the Chargers had hosted Hines for a workout per Jordan Schultz and they must have liked what they saw.

Former Bills RB Nyheim Hines finds his next NFL home with LA Chargers
Going into the 2023 season, the Bills had one of the more versatile running backs in Nyheim Hines after trading for him in the middle of the 2022 season. In 2022, Week 18 against the New England Patriots, Hines returned two kickoffs for a touchdown that contributed to a big win to end the regular season.
With Hines getting the chance to be in Buffalo for a full year, there was a bit of excitement with what he could do for the offense. But then a torn ACL in July of 2023 basically ended his tenure with the Bills as it was a non-football injury.
Even with a running back room with Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton, Hines will still have the chance to earn a spot either on offense or on special teams. However, with being out of the league for the last two seasons, he faces a major uphill battle.
He was a young promising player at one point and this could very well be his last chance to make some sort of impact in the NFL. It is great to see him get another shot at the NFL after an unexpected devastating knee injury.
