The Buffalo Bills made a good amount of revamping on the roster after Sean McDermott was fired, and Joe Brady was promoted to head coach. Prior to the start of free agency, the Bills released players, made a trade involving CB Taron Johnson who is now with the Las Vegas Raiders, and let a lot of players walk in free agency.
Up to this point, there are still a great amount of current free agents who were just with the Bills last season. Players like Joey Bosa, Matt Milano, Shaq Thompson, Tre’Davious White, DaQuan Jones, Taylor Rapp, A.J. Epenesa, and Curtis Samuel are all free agents as of right now. It makes you wonder what the league thought about Buffalo’s roster.
The Bills did see defensive back Cam Lewis sign with the Chicago Bears on a two-year deal, and now another former Bills defender has been signed.
CB Dane Jackson lands with Jacksonville Jaguars
According to the Jacksonville Jaguars PR team, the Jaguars made a couple of moves including the signing of Dane Jackson, who returned to Buffalo for the 2025 after being with the team from 2020-2023. In 2024, Jackson signed with the Carolina Panthers, but only spent one season there.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have made the following roster moves:

•Signed OL Trystan Colon
•Signed CB Dane Jackson
•Placed CB Keith Taylor on Injured Reserve
•Waived OL Sal Wormley
The Bills drafted Jackson in the 7th round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Pittsburgh. He’s managed to be on the roster essentially every season, but he was a major liability at times for the secondary in Buffalo. His coverage was never the best, and there were times when big plays were given up by him.
In the Bills’ playoff game loss against the Denver Broncos, Jackson stepped in for Tre’Davious White at one point and he was passed by Marvin Mims Jr. for a late 4th quarter touchdown that put the Broncos up with less than a minute left. Buffalo was up 27-23 at that point, but Jackson allowed Mims to get behind him and put Denver ahead that essentially caused overtime.
Jackson was released by the Bills and now he lands with the team that Buffalo eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. He could very well have an uphill battle to make onto Jacksonville’s roster, but anything can happen. Seeing Jackson sign with a team before some like Bosa or Milano is extremely surprising.
