The NFL season kicks off tomorrow night on Thursday Night Football in Philadelphia. To open up the season, the Philadelphia Eagles will be hosting the Dallas Cowboys. The new season starts for the Buffalo Bills this Sunday night in Orchard Park with the Baltimore Ravens coming to town.
There is no better first test for the Bills than going up against the team that is looking for revenge from last year’s divisional round. After a Week 4 35-10 beatdown from the Ravens, the Bills got the last laugh in the playoffs by beating the Ravens, 27-25.
It’s the start to the Bills’ journey which involves a bit of an easy schedule compared to prior years. They only go as far as Houston (in Week 12) and all of the top teams in the NFL on their schedule come to Buffalo. Even though it won’t be easy at all, the Bills do catch a few breaks.
Overall, the ultimate goal for the Bills that they have been close to accomplishing for the past five seasons is winning their first franchise Super Bowl. The only problem is that they have yet to make it to the final game, only getting as far as the conference title game.
Four of the last five playoffs, the Bills have been sent home by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Buffalo has no issue taking them down in the regular season, but the playoffs is where it matters and the Bills have not done enough to get over the hump. Will 2025 finally be the year?
Final Super Bowl prediction has Bills finally going all the way
Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone has a final Super Bowl prediction and it will have Bills fans in tears of joy if it does come true. Scataglia has the Bills winning their first Super Bowl against the Los Angeles Rams. Here’s a bit on what Scataglia said about the Bills winning the AFC and getting to the Super Bowl:
"So when I look at the NFL as a whole, I'm buying into the Buffalo Bills finally getting over the hump in the AFC, and my reasoning for that is Kansas City's roster is worse than it was at this point in 2024, and the Chiefs did win all of their one-score games last year - that type of thing won't happen for the second year in a row, and the Bills were the better team in 2024. Buffalo has the better roster and also have the better QB."Lou Scataglia, NFL Spin Zone
The only thing the Bills haven’t done in the playoffs is take down the Chiefs and if they can do that, that really opens up the window for them to capture their first Lombardi trophy. If the Bills can get past the Chiefs, then no matter who is across from them representing the AFC, the Bills have a legitimate shot at ending their continuous nightmare of not winning the Super Bowl.
