Anger, sadness, and disappointment. Those are the current feelings across Bills fans as they witnessed yet another playoff heartbreak that ended their season than they were expecting. The Buffalo Bills saw the Denver Broncos take the ball away five times and kick a walkoff overtime field goal to send the Bills home.
Even though the Bills scored 30 points, the Broncos scored 33 and one of the many reasons why Denver was able to win was because of how Bo Nix performed when the Broncos were down.
Throughout this game, the Broncos only trailed the Bills two times. Once in the first quarter and then late in the 4th quarter. Denver had the biggest lead at 13 at one point, but the Bills managed to make it a game in the second half.
However, even though Denver was down, including late in the 4th quarter, the Bills’ defense couldn’t perform any worse than they did against Nix.
Bills fans are angry about how bad defense performed against Bo Nix
According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), when the Broncos were trailing the Bills, Nix had an 81.8% adjusted completion rate, 120 total yards, 2 passing touchdowns, and a passer rating of 120.0.

This Buffalo defense was a joke most of this season. They couldn’t stop the run, and they didn’t play great situational football enough. It’s just extremely frustrating that this is the unit that has kept the Bills from going to the Super Bowl every single season and yet, Sean McDermott is a defensive-minded coach.
They can’t beat Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs. Now, they can’t win in the playoffs when Mahomes isn’t there. It’s super difficult to have this conversation because now, the Bills are entering a territory where they may not be true Super Bowl contenders like we thought.
The front office has to make it a priority to find the right players to add to this defense. They went heavy on defense last offseason, but now they need to find immediate talent who can truly upgrade this unit.
