There was only one bigger surprise in the Buffalo Bills’ 2025 draft than trading up for two defensive tackles, and that was drafting Arkansas edge rusher Landon Jackson early in the third round. Leading up to the draft, Jackson was pinned as a first round prospect but he somehow fell all the way to the third round. That’s great value for the Bills at a position that they need help with.

He’s a physical pass rusher who has a little bit of the same traits as Von Miller in terms of bending and getting by blockers off the edge. He’s an obvious candidate to secure a roster spot and there is a chance that Bills fans could see him on the field sooner than later.

With Joey Bosa and A.J. Epenesa heading into contract years, don’t be surprised if they decline then Jackson could be on the field opposite of Greg Rousseau.

DE Landon Jackson could be big difference maker sooner than later for Bills

Sayre Bedinger of NFL Spin Zone recently listed three NFL rookies who could be “shocking game-changers in 2025” and Jackson was overlooked by being left off. Instead, Bedinger listed Giants’ running back Cam Skattebo, Broncos’ wideout Pat Bryant, and Raiders’ wideout Dont’e Thornton.

Jackson is being overlooked and now the only way to show doubters is to show what he can do on the field. He’s had a strong start to spring and the summer. As the preseason starts, Jackson will be a player that fans will want to watch so that they can see the potential that he can bring to the Bills this season and for the long-term future.

Buffalo already has Greg Rousseau locked in on a four-year extension from this past offseason. Bosa is the veteran that Buffalo needs right now, but Jackson has the chance to show Bills Mafia that he and Rousseau can be dangerous beyond the 2025 season.
