For quite some time now, Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass has been getting criticism about his consistency with his kicks since the playoffs last season. Even this year, Bass has faced heat on field goal tries, and even extra-point attempts. Coming into this Week 9 game against the Miami Dolphins, Bass was 12/15 on field goal tries and 26/28 on XP attempts.

Bass missed an extra-point attempt against the Dolphins that could have been a huge difference maker for the worst. Then Bass would doink a kick off the crossbar on another kick but it bounced it luckily.

In a back-and-forth game between the Bills and Dolphins, it looked like the game was coming down to the wire and indeed it did. After the Bills took a 27-20 lead, the Dolphins managed to drive the ball down the field to get into the endzone to tie it up. That left Josh Allen under two minutes to get the Bills a division win and improve to 7-2.

It took a Jordan Poyer unnecessary roughness hit to Keon Coleman’s head to get the Bills near field goal range. However, the Bills offense was looking to get down the field to get into the endzone but failed to convert on third down with 10 seconds to go. Sean McDermott opted to send Bass out to the field to go and get the win for Buffalo. In order to do it, he would need to make it from 61 yards out.

There were lots of nerves as Bass got himself ready, looking to get a win and he delivered big time to give the Bills a 30-27 lead, which then eventually was the game-winner. In a video caught by Marcel Louis-Jacques, fans can see just how great Bass’ kick was from 61 yards out.

Tyler Bass helps Buffalo Bills get further away from rest of AFC East

Who would have thought that the Bills would be 7-2 in the AFC East, while the rest of the division has no more than three wins each. Thanks to Tyler Bass, the Bills get their fourth consecutive win, sweep the Dolphins for the third consecutive year, and extend their division lead even further from the Dolphins, Jets, and Patriots.
