When Sunday morning arrives, there will be feelings of excitement and nervousness for Bills fans. Buffalo will open up the Sunday games down in Jacksonville to take on a red hot Jaguars team.
Make no mistake about it, Jacksonville is the AFC South champions for a reason. However, Buffalo is a team that no one should want to play in the playoffs simply because of how Allen performs in the postseason.
He has 32 total touchdowns to just 4 interceptions. He is averaging 258 passing yards per game and has completed 65% of his passes in 13 playoff games. For as great as Jacksonville presents as a threat, Allen should be feared the most.
Even though Allen will clearly the best player on the field this Sunday down in Duval County, the rest of his team has to show up. For the past two seasons, there have been a handful of times where Allen has to carry the team and that isn't sustainable in the playoffs. If they can't support Allen, there is a chance that Buffalo may not go as far as fans want them to.
Early Wild Card projection has Bills fans feeling extremely upset
Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone put together a list of early Wild Card round projections and Bills fans won’t like what was predicted for the first Sunday game. Scataglia has the Bills going one-and-down, losing to the Jaguars, 26-23.
"Jacksonville is a better team than Buffalo. With the Bills also having regressed on both sides of the ball, they won't have a ton of answers for the high-flying Jags offense and the stingy defense. Jaguars win this one."Lou Scataglia, NFL Spin Zone
This might be harsh, but it’s something that can’t be ignored. For as great as Buffalo can be, they haven’t shown it on a consistent basis. If the Bills go down to Jacksonville and lose, there are going to be a lot of angry fans and maybe the chatter of getting major changes in the organization will start up again.
In a playoff bracket where there is no Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, or Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen is clearly the best quarterback in the AFC bracket. However, Bills fans know that Allen needs support as well.
If Buffalo can’t leave Duval County with the win, fans are going to be extremely angry and there are going to be some valid points brought up on whether or not the Bills can get over the hump with Sean McDermott leading the team.
