After taking down one team who was in the Super Bowl last season, the Buffalo Bills will now host the NFC representative in the Philadelphia Eagles, who just clinched the NFC East last week. Both Buffalo and Philly are heading to the playoffs, but they still have to play hard to get the best seeding possible in their respective conference.
This could very well be a Super Bowl preview for February, but Bills fans should not be thinking that far right now. The main focus is the Eagles, who may have their ups and downs this season, but are still one of the top teams in the league for a reason. And of course, they are the defending Super Bowl champs for a reason.
Going into this game, we had the chance to speak with Anthony Miller, site expert for Inside the Iggles and Miller was able to share some insights that Bills fans won’t want to miss out on.
Bills vs. Eagles Week 17 insights
1.) Who would you say is a very underrated Eagles player that Bills fan should be looking out for, and why?
"Moro Ojomo has been dominant for the Eagles this season as he has done a great job filling in for the injured Jalen Carter. Ojomo leads the Eagles in sacks with five and has had 18 quarterback pressures. Carter might be returning this week, but that won't stop Ojomo from being a difference maker, Bills fans should watch out for."
2.) Saquon Barkley poses as a big problem to Buffalo's underwhelming run-defense. Do you believe the Eagles will utilize him the most this Sunday?
"This is a tricky question, as Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo has been so inconsistent in how he has used Barkley in the offense. I will say that in the last three games, Barkley has had at least 20 carries and 70 yards in each of those games, including two 100-yard games. Barkley should be a part of the game plan and should get plenty of touches if Patullo sticks to his guns."
3.) What would you say is a huge weakness that Jalen Hurts has in his game that Buffalo could attack?
"Hurts has trouble at times with his accuracy with the deep ball. There are times when he can nail it, but it doesn't happen nearly enough that it needs to be. Buffalo would be wise to blitz on Hurts and force him out of the pocket to scramble as long as they have a QB spy on him."
4.) The Eagles haven't lost to the Bills since 2011...do you believe they will continue that streak in Orchard Park, and why?
"It all comes down to the defense for the Eagles which has allowed under 300 yards total in the last two games. Josh Allen is a nightmare of a matchup for the Eagles as they have struggled against athletic quarterbacks. Never count out the Eagles no matter how inconsistent they look. I would give the Eagles a fighter's chance and I think they will sneak by with a 21-17 win over Buffalo."
