Losing in the NFL is never fun, but it’s especially worse when the loss comes against a division rival. The Buffalo Bills experienced that in Week 4 when they let the New England Patriots come into the new Highmark Stadium, put up over 400 total yards and beat the Bills, 29-26.

It marked the second straight season where the Patriots beat the Bills in Orchard Park, and now history could be repeating itself after Week 5. With the Patriots beating the Bills last week, they put themselves right behind Buffalo in the AFC East standings at 2-2. while the Bills fell to 3-1.

The Patriots are now 3-2 after delivering a 45-17 beatdown win against the Las Vegas Raiders. Since they beat the Raiders, they have officially put more pressure on the Bills in primetime on Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams.

Bills set up to potentially let history repeat itself once again

If the Bills are not able to beat the Rams tonight out in Los Angeles, they will lose control of the AFC East and the Patriots will jump ahead of them. Since they would both have the same record, the Patriots currently own the tiebreaker over Buffalo.

Last season, the Patriots beat the Bills in Week 5 on primetime, and then the Bills were blown out by the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6 under the bright lights, and the Patriots took control of the division and never looked back. All of a sudden, Buffalo is facing that same set up going into tonight's game.

MNF just got a whole lot bigger for Bills against Rams

Even when we saw this matchup being scheduled in primetime back in May, it was a big time game that the Bills were going to be in. The Rams had arguably the best roster across the NFL going into the season, and they were extremely close to making the Super Bowl last season.

They have been up-and-down this season, but they are coming off a tough win against the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Now they are looking to make a statement against the Bills in front of a national audience.

If the Bills can't leave LA with a win, not only will it be their second consecutive loss, but they will watch the Patriots take control of the division once again. Not to mention, the Patriots get a matchup against the New York Jets next week while the Bills will be out on the west coast again against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6.

Monday night could be a very fun time for Bills Mafia, or it could be filled with lots of anger and sadness. Luckily, we will know later on tonight.
