The Buffalo Bills took a massive risk this offseason when they traded a second-round pick to the Chicago Bears in exchange for wide receiver DJ Moore. They have been searching for a top target for Josh Allen for years and gambled on Moore filling that role.
The trade was quickly met with criticism, with analysts saying that the Bills gave up too much for an aging receiver.
Early in training camp, Moore is already proving Brandon Beane right. The star receiver is developing a strong connection with Allen and making plays in practice. This trade already looks like a win for Buffalo.

Moore had one of the biggest plays of the day at Bills training camp on Tuesday. During 11-on-11 drills, he beat multiple defenders over the top for a touchdown. Allen dropped the ball in perfectly, and Moore came down with it. The team "X" account posted the clip with the caption, "Moore to come."

The veteran receiver has been impressive so far in camp, earning praise from his teammates. In an interview with NFL on CBS reporter Evan Washburn, Allen said, "His body control, the way that he moves with the ball in his hand - it's a different element. It's a guy that can catch a slant and take it to the house, and that's exciting as a quarterback when you have someone like that."
Bills writer Ralph Ventre said that Moore has been "exuding WR1 vibes."
Buffalo has been limited on offense without a receiver who can consistently beat defenders. Allen's heroics and a strong running game have kept the unit moving, but the MVP quarterback can only do so much. Having a true WR1 like Moore in the building will give him a major boost.
Moore struggles against press-man coverage and is often at his best when on the move before the snap, but that doesn't mean that he can't get open in one-on-one situations. If he can be kept off the line of scrimmage, he can be a dominant receiver.
Training camp clips have led fanbases astray more than a few times before, but reports indicate that Allen and Moore have connected consistently during the first week of practice. If they continue to build their chemistry, this duo could light up the league when the regular season comes around.
