Week 1 is in the books for the Buffalo Bills and they came out victorious with a 36-31 win over the Houston Texans, a team that has had their number in recent memory. Not to mention either, the Bills haven’t won in Houston since 2006 back when J.P. Losman was under center for the Bills.
Now, Josh Allen has broken that streak as he gets his first win in Houston of his career. His MVP-like performance showed the NFL that the Bills are still the same championship contenders that they have been even with a new head coach in Joe Brady.
Going into this game, the Bills were faced with a bunch of doubters as many people had thought that they would start off the season 0-1. To be fair, the Bills haven't always played the greatest against the Texans. Just last season, Houston's defense completely destroyed Buffalo's offense and sacked Josh Allen 8 times.
This time around, it was Josh Allen that embarrassed the Houston defense as he went over for 300 yards and 4 total touchdowns. However, before that fantastic performance, there were people that were projecting the Bills to win, and now Allen's left tackle in Dion Dawkins is showing off those receipts after Buffalo's big win.

After the Bills beat the Texans, Dawkins took to X with a screenshot of NFL analyst's winner picks for Buffalo and Houston, with 9 out of 10 picking Houston to win in a one-score game. There was only one analyst who picked the Bills to win by double digits. Dawkins commented "Free energy" which shows the motivation that the Bills needed to win this game.

Again, I'm sure it was easy to pick Houston in this game because of what has happened the last couple of seasons. At the same time, it's new season and a new era of Bills football. There was no tape on what Joe Brady would be like as a head coach. Was he perfect? Not necessarily, but he outperformed the expectations that people had of him.
Giving this kind of motivation to a championship contender is a high risk move. Buffalo is that type of team that can light up the scoreboard at any moment as they have one of the best offenses in the league. You also can't blame Dawkins for talking back because the offensive line looked great against a tough Texans defensive front.
Maybe people won't be doubting the Bills moving forward after this type of performance, but sometimes being picked against is just the motivation that a team needs.
