This past week, NFL executives, coaches, and scouts have been ranking some of the best players at their respective positions and there have been a couple of Bills mentioned. Players like Ed Oliver and Greg Rousseau have earned some recognition at their positions and now we have another Bill who is getting some love from people across the league.

Tight end Dalton Kincaid is entering a crucial year of his rookie contract with the Bills. Since he was a first round pick (and that the Bills traded up for him), Buffalo will have to decide if they want to pick up his fifth-year option after the 2025 season. He will need to step up from last season, after dealing with a knee injury and not being as impactful in the offense.

Even though Kincaid is coming off a bit of a down year, he still received some votes as one of the best tight ends going into the 2025 season according to Jeremy Fowler, per executives, coaches, and scouts across the league. Kincaid fell just outside the top ten but was listed as the first honorable mention. According to Fowler, an AFC scout said “I think he’s [Kincaid] going to have a big bounce-back year.”

Dalton Kincaid gets recognition at right time ahead of crucial season

Even though Buffalo has an “everybody eats” offense, Kincaid has to step up big-time this season in order to show that he’s worth keeping around for the long haul. Again, not only did the Bills spend a first round pick on him but they traded up for him in 2023. Not to mention, the Bills had given Dawson Knox a four-year contract extension at the beginning of the 2022 season.

In his rookie season, Kincaid finished his season with 673 yards and 2 touchdowns and only trailed Stefon Diggs in targets. With his knee injury he suffered in the middle of last season, he regressed in production and wasn’t as impactful as Bills fans had hoped for.

The good news is that he has had a full offseason to rest and recover. The 2025 season is a big one for Kincaid and him getting this kind of recognition should get him motivated to take a big step forward in his career.
