Cowboys incompetence with Micah Parsons is Bills' chance at blockbuster

The Bills don't have to look any further for pass rush help.

Opportunities to add superstar pass rushers don't come around often in the NFL, but when they do, you've got to strike when the iron is hot. The Chicago Bears tried a few years back by making a blockbuster deal for Khalil Mack, because a player like that becoming available simply doesn't happen that often while they're in their prime.

The Buffalo Bills might have a chance to take advantage of the incompetence of the Dallas Cowboys, who are dealing with a major contract issue surrounding star pass rusher Micah Parsons. Things have soured to the point that Parsons is considering severing ties with the organization completely, and possibly requesting a trade away.

And if Parsons is seriously considering asking for a trade away from Dallas, the Buffalo Bills need to be first in line to cash in on the Cowboys' mistake.

Bills need to be in front of Micah Parsons line if star pass rusher demands a trade

There is really no need to even go over the career production of someone like Parsons. He's established himself as one of the truly premier pass rushers in the NFL, averaging 14 sacks per season with at least 41 pressures in each of his first four NFL seasons. He's added 112 career quarterback hits.

The fact that the Cowboys didn't simply give Parsons a blank check is a shock, but it's the type of incompetence that could be to the benefit of a team like the Buffalo Bills.

It just so happens that the Bills would likely be a team in the mix for someone like Parsons thanks to their need off the edge defensively, as well as the fact that they play in the AFC and the Cowboys might prefer to trade him out of conference if it would come down to that.

The Bills could get a little reckless with NFL Draft capital if it meant adding someone like Parsons, who just turned 26 years old iover the summer. You're adding a superstar player who has not even yet entered the prime of his career, who is also basically instant production at one of the most important positions in the game.

Adding Parsons would require a record-setting contract, but that's the type of investment the Bills have to be willing to make if they want to add a Lombardi Trophy to the case.

This offseason, the Bills got aggressive in upgrading their defensive front with players like Joey Bosa, Michael Hoecht, and Larry Ogunjobi. They also added players in the 2025 NFL Draft, but you'd trade any and all of that for the shot at a player like Micah Parsons.

To have Josh Allen on one side of the field and Micah Parsons on the other would set the Bills up for a dynasty run. If the Cowboys even consider listening to offers, Brandon Beane needs to be first in line calling Jerry Jones and working on a deal.
