Reason No.3: It’s a feel-good story for him and Bills Mafia

In no way am I stating right now that the Buffalo Bills are winning the Super Bowl this year, but they look as good as ever and have as good a chance as ever to get there. They are right there in the race for the one seed which is set to come down to them and the Chiefs and getting it would be massive for their chances. Hyde’s return to Buffalo puts him in play for once again trying to help this team raise the Lombardi.

As a fan favorite for years, what a truly awesome story it would be for Hyde, the Bills organization, and Bills Mafia to get there together. Coming over in 2017 in Sean McDermott’s first year as head coach, Hyde was crucial. He was a massive cornerstone in turning the Bills around from the dark ages. Together, Hyde and running mate Jordan Poyer helped change the culture of Buffalo and formed the best safety tandem in the league for years. Before Josh Allen ascended to a top quarterback in the league, Hyde was one of the few stars Buffalo fans could cheer for. He was one of the first players to restore hope and joy to what seemed like a cursed franchise.

Hyde helped the Bills reach heights they hadn’t reached in 20-plus years. Between breaking the drought, reaching the AFC Championship, making the playoffs every year, and being a top-five team every season. Hyde has brought a fanbase that lives and breathes Buffalo Bills football some of the greatest joy over the last almost decade. He confirmed today that no matter what he will be retiring after this year. What better way to go out than if he and the Bills can get it done this year?
