Brandon Beane isn't closing the door on a potential Von Miller reunion

Would it make sense?

The Buffalo Bills under Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott have never been afraid of continuity, as there have been plenty of players that they have worked with over the years that have come back to play under them. In fact, Beane and McDermott had no issue bringing in players that played with the Carolina Panthers when both of them were in Carolina.

When the duo was still together in Buffalo, there were plenty of players that played for the Bills in different stints. Players like A.J. Klein, Jordan Poyer, Dane Jackson, and Mitch Trubisky are some notable players.

Even though it’s now Brandon Beane and Joe Brady running the show for the Bills, Beane could very well be looking to bring back a familiar face after his recent comments to the media.

Brandon Beane keeps reunion door open for Von Miller

During the 2022 offseason, the Buffalo Bills made a gigantic splash of signing future Hall of Fame OLB/DE Von Miller, who was coming off of winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams. The Bills signed him to a six-year deal, but he only ended up playing for three seasons with the Bills.

Miller got off to a hot start with the Bills with 8 sacks, but then he tore his ACL on Thanksgiving Day. Miller would then end up missing some of the 2024 season but he was highly unproductive to the point where he was a healthy scratch at times near the end of the season. His final season in Buffalo featured just 6 sacks and 17 total tackles.

After being released by the Bills in March, 2025, Miller would sign with the Washington Commanders later on in the summer and he managed to rack up 9 sacks for them. Now with Miller being a free agent, there is always a chance that he could play again this season, and Brandon Beane isn’t ruling out a potential reunion.

Beane spoke with the media on Friday, and he discussed how he "talks to Von [Miller] all the time." per Jon Scott. Beane also mentioned "I love Von. You could name 10 other ex-Bills that if everthing lined up right, you wouldn't say no to something like that." said Beane per Scott.

When Miller was brought to Buffalo in 2022, the Bills were in a totally different scheme defensively. Miller was not the best fit for a 4-3. However, Miller can be a great asset to Jim Leonhard’s 3-4 defense. With the Bills already loading up on the outside linebacker spot, why not add one more that has played in Buffalo before?

With Miller showing that he still has some left in the tank, it wouldn’t be a bad choice for the Bills to consider the possibility of bringing Miller back in the building. Obviously, the Bills shouldn’t be offering him a ridiculous contract to make it happen, but if Miller is willing to play on a low salary, then it would make sense for Buffalo to make the move.
