The Buffalo Bills carry 22 injured players into Week 9, as injuries become an ever-greater storyline for NFL teams this season. Hopefully that doesn't take away from Josh Allen returning to the scene of his first NFL win for the first time since his rookie season in 2018. A Monday Night Football matchup with the 6-1 Minnesota Vikings, and the Bills suffer from injuries to key players.
If this injury report is anything to go by, they'll need to play very well indeed to bring home a win. With Kyler Murray down and backup QB Carson Wentz up, problems reside on the Minnesota Vikings too. Let's get into Week 9's final Buffalo Bills injury report, per the Bills' PR team.
Bills' Week 9 Saturday injury report vs. Vikings
CB Dee Alford - Ankle

Game Status: AVAILABLE
Dee Alford's ankle injury has not had a linear recovery. He missed Week 8 after a questionable designation, but practiced fully in Week 9.
With a critical matchup against another 6-1 team, Dee Alford is back in action.
OL Alec Anderson - Ankle
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
DNP | DNP | Limited |
Game Status: QUESTIONABLE
The Bills' starting left guard, Alec Anderson, played nearly every snap on Sunday against the Ravens. Suddenly, he's unable to practice as the week kicks off. The injury seems to have occurred on Buffalo's opening drive.
Though he returned to the game, Anderson is hampered nonetheless. He's questionable for Monday night.
LB Joe Andreessen - Knee
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Full | Full | Full |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
Joe Andreessen suffered a mid-week knee issue last Thursday, but had no status for gameday. A week of practice and recovery later, and nothing has changed. Buffalo Joe is active.
LB Terrel Bernard - Vet Rest
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
N/A | N/A | DNP |
Bernard was added to the injury report on Saturday, with a vet rest day. He's fine for Monday.
Game Status: AVAILABLE
T Spencer Brown - Back
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Limited | Limited | Full |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
Spencer Brown missed Week 8 with his back issue; It was his first missed game due to the injury, suffered in Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
He has ramped up from last week, and may be urgent personnel against a blitz-heavy Vikings defense. For that reason, we're glad to see him active.
OLB Bradley Chubb - Chest/Thumb
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Full | Full | Full |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
Chubb continues to deal with his collection of subtle injuries picked up through the season. None has affected his play or practice.
WR Keon Coleman - Shoulder
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Limited | Limited | Limited |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
Keon Coleman continues to pop on and off the injury report each week. After last week's clean bill of health, he returns once more to the list.
His shoulder issue, not entirely new, has disrupted his practice several times in 2026. He's played well this season, but injuries continue to mar a go big-or-go home year for Coleman. Oddly enough, he failed to practice fully all week yet has no designation for gameday. Keon Coleman will play.
T Dion Dawkins - Rib
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
DNP | DNP | DNP |
Game Status: QUESTIONABLE
Much like fellow left-side lineman Alec Anderson, Dion Dawkins injury came as a surprise to many. He played every snap of Week 8 seemingly without incident, only exiting when the Bills benched their starters at game's end.
Now, he's dealing with a rib injury which has kept him out of practice all week. Still, Dawkins was positive to the media. Despite not practicing the entire week, Dawkins is still very much questionable for gameday. If any player could miss the entire week of practice but still start, it's Dion Dawkins.
DB Sam Franklin Jr. - Illness
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
N/A | DNP | Full |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
Critical special teamer and solid backup DB Sam Franklin Jr. missed Thursday's practice with an illness. It won't affect his availability for Monday.
DL Greg Gaines - Calf
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
DNP | DNP | Limited |
Game Status: QUESTIONABLE
Last week, Gaines was declared questionable after a mid-week practice injury, then inactive. For Week 9, it's bleak once again.
The useful rotational DL has been solid in 2026, and ramped up over the weekend. He's questionable, but largely unneeded for Monday.
DB Jordan Hancock - Hamstring
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Limited | Limited | Limited |
Game Status: QUESTIONABLE (Injured Reserve)
The Buffalo Bills are in need of help in the secondary, and Jordan Hancock can offer that. First, he has to get onto the field.
Since missing some time on injured reserve, his return to practice window has been opened. At some point in the next three weeks, Hancock will either be activated from IR or banished until the end of the season. We expect the former, but won't know if this is the week or not until it happens.
RB Ty Johnson - Illness
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
DNP | Full | Full |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
Ty Johnson missed Thursday's practice with an illness. He's since returned, and it has no impact on his availability.
TE Dalton Kincaid - Chest
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Limited | Full | Full |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
Dalton Kincaid's chest injury from Week 6 has taken time to recover from. He was limited last week and questionable to play. This week, he returned fully to practice.
Kincaid battled through his injury to play last week, and is on track to do the same again for Week 9.
WR DJ Moore - Shoulder
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Limited | Limited | Limited |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
The Buffalo Bills offense is a different beast with DJ Moore working alongside Josh Allen. His absence is never felt more than when he returns. Moore came back from his brief injury stint to beat the Baltimore Ravens, and played excellent football en route to victory.
In the game, he did have to visit the blue medical tent, and get checked out on several occasions. Despite that, Moore remains practicing in a limited capacity, and has no gameday designation. He will be active.
DL Ed Oliver - Knee/Vet Rest
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Full | Full | DNP |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
Ed Oliver is a difference maker on the field, and his health improving only plays in the Bills favor. After another season plagued with hurt for Oliver, the silver lining appears. He was a full participant in practice all week, aside from his vet rest day, and will be active for Week 9.
WR Joshua Palmer - Hamstring
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
DNP | DNP | DNP |
Game Status: OUT
One of the scarier recent Buffalo Bills injuries, Joshua Palmer's hamstring injury could see him miss time. When he went down in Week 8 against the Ravens, it didn't look good as you could tell he was in clear pain. He was out of practice this week and out for the game also.
OLB TJ Parker - Knee
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Full | Full | Full |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
TJ Parker was active on Sunday, despite an injury slowing him in practice nearly all week. For Week 9, he's back in full capacity and ready for gameday.
G Ar'Maj Reed-Adams - Back/Elbow
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Full | Full | Full |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
Bills 7th-round rookie guard Ar'Maj Reed-Adams has dealt with minor injuries all season, and it's changed nothing. He's once again fine to play.
DL T.J. Sanders - Shoulder
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Full | Full | Full |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
After being labeled questionable for Week 8, T.J. Sanders took the field. With another weeks recovery and no known setbacks, prepare for a repeat performance on Monday Night Football.
WR Khalil Shakir - Personal
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
N/A | DNP | Full |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
Khalil Shakir took a personal day on Friday, but nothing else is going on with him. He's good to play on gameday.
WR Tyrell Shavers - Knee
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
Full | Full | Full |
Game Status: QUESTIONABLE - Injured Reserve
The Bills' former UDFA WR has ramped up well since having his return to practice window opened last week. This week, Tyrell Shavers is back to full practice, and questionable to play.
DL Deone Walker - Thumb
Practice #1 | Practice #2 | Practice #3 |
|---|---|---|
N/A | Full | Full |
Game Status: AVAILABLE
Much like Bradley Chubb, Deone Walker's thumb injury won't affect his playing time. He's ready to go for primetime.
Bills Injury Report Summary
A whopping 22 names on this injury report, and it boils down to just 6 players with a gameday status.
The biggest issue on board in the left side of the Bills' offensive line. Both starters, LT Dion Dawkins and LG Alec Anderson are questionable. Dawkins didn't take the practice field once this week, and Anderson only managed to participate in part on Saturday.
The Bills have a depth on fresh talent to choose from if either cannot go, but there's no obvious solution. What players will be able to step up, as the Minnesota Vikings blitz at an unthinkable rate?
On defense, Greg Gaines being potentially inactive isn't a major loss. He's talented, but so is the rest of the room. Jordan Hancock's questionable listing off the injured reserve is encouraging. The Bills needed safety help and Hancock could provide that if he can get activated.
The last and favored problem is at WR. Though the Bills may have lost Joshua Palmer, Tyrell Shavers may make his return to the active roster. If the playoff hero of 2025 is able to step back into the offense, he could do more than just replace Palmer.
