Good morning, Bills Mafia and happy game day! This is officially the biggest game of the season for the Buffalo Bills, as they enter Arrowhead today to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. Buffalo has yet to take the Chiefs down in the playoffs since this rivalry began between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes.

The Bills now get another shot at not only taking down the back-to-back defending champs, but they can also punch their ticket to their first Super Bowl appearance since the 1994 postseason. Considering what was expected of the Bills by many analysts coming into this season, Buffalo has definitely exceeded expectations. At the same time, Bills fans never stopped believing.

TV Channel and Announcers

TV Channel: CBS (6:30PM EST)

Play-by-play: Jim Nantz

Color Analyst: Tony Romo

Sideline Reporters: Tracy Wolfson, Jay Feely, Evan Washburn

Fans can also tune into WGR Radio 550 with Chris Brown, Eric Wood and Sal Capaccio to listen to the game. The game will also be on SiriusXM 88 or 228 as well as on Westwood One Sports with Kevin Harlan, Devin McCourty and Derek Rackley.

Referees

The reffing crew for this game will be led by Clete Blakeman. According to Sal Capaccio, Blakeman’s crew this season has called the most total penalties this season (15.75) which ranks the most against home teams, and second against away teams.

Mini-History

Much like recent memory, the Bills lead the Chiefs in their overall regular season matchups, 28-21-1 but the Chiefs have the 4 games-to-2 games advantage in the playoffs. Buffalo’s last playoff win against the Chiefs came on January 23rd, 1994 where they easily handled the Chiefs, 30-13. Thurman Thomas had three scores on the ground along with 208 total yards from scrimmage.

The Bills and Chiefs have faced off three times in the postseason since Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes have been in the league. Mahomes has always come out as the winning quarterback. We all obviously remember what happened in the 2022 playoffs where in the last two minutes of the game, Mahomes and Allen each delivered scoring drives but Mahomes was gifted with the coin toss in overtime to eliminate the Bills.

Their last two playoff games have been decided by less than a touchdown. Tyler Bass missed a game-tying field goal last year that could have potentially forced overtime, but his crucial miss sent the Bills home early. Bass has since then been solid for Buffalo and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Bills have to rely on Bass’ leg to make a crucial play late in the game.

Kickoff in Kansas City is set for 6:30PM EST on CBS. Tune in to watch another chapter of this rivalry where the winner will not only be crowned as the AFC champs, but also prepare for the Super Bowl next month.
