The loss against the Miami Dolphins still hurts and the Buffalo Bills will have to find a way to get past it and prepare for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One of the biggest reasons why they lost to Miami in the fashion they did was because of the lack of help from their wide receivers.

They couldn’t create separation and it made life extremely tough for Josh Allen. The passing game couldn’t get going and because the rushing attack wasn’t doing anything, the offense became very limited.

Before the game yesterday, it was reported that the Bills had made an offer to the Dolphins for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle but a deal couldn’t get done. The report showed that the Bills may not have been willing to offer their first-round pick in 2026, but rather in 2027. If that’s true, the Bills definitely lost out on improving their team now. Especially given the fact that Waddle had a solid day against Buffalo.

One day after the Bills lost to the Dolphins, they are still looking to improve the roster despite the trade deadline being over. According to Jeremy Fowler, the Bills have signed wide receiver Mecole Hardman to their practice squad.

Bills latest attempt to fix wide receiver room shows desperation

Hardman joins the Bills practice squad after spending time with the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, and briefly with the Green Bay Packers. Hardman was a great deep threat for the Chiefs back in the start of his career. He was a Pro Bowler in his first season.

After leaving the Chiefs the first time, he signed with the Jets but only played in 5 games with them before being traded back to the Chiefs where he eventually caught the game winning touchdown in the Super Bowl that season.

He signed with the Chiefs on a one-year deal for the 2024 season but then signed with Packers this past offseason. However, he didn’t make the final roster but was brought back to the practice squad until he was eventually released.

Now he joins the Bills who are in need of improvement from their wide receivers, but Hardman isn’t the same dynamic player that he once was. This feels like another Curtis Samuel or Elijah Moore move. While Hardman might be able to help on special teams or be a backup in case an injury comes up, I don’t see the point in this move other than for depth.
